We are really proud that in the year 2015, Chinese Scientist Tu Youyou was awarded half of the Nobel Prize in Medicine for her discovery of Artemisinin or Qinghaosu (pronounced: Ching-hao-su).Treatments containing an artemisinin derivative (artemisinin-combination therapies, ACTs) are now standard treatment worldwide for P. falciparum malaria. Artemisinin is isolated from the plant Artemisia annua,（Chinese Name: 青蒿 Qinghao, pronounced: Ching-hao-su）a herb employed in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The medicinal value of this plant has been known to the Chinese for at least 2,000 years. In 1596, Li Shizhen recommended tea made from qinghao specifically to treat malaria symptoms in his "Compendium of Materia Medica".
TCM is a unique, distinct and independent medical system that has been practised in China for more than 5000 years, long before Western medicine began. TCM treats the body as an integrated system and recognize that energy levels can get out of balance, or organ function can underachieve or be overactive. It has developed over centuries, supported by a wealthy of clinical experience and deep understanding of the human body and how it works. In Western societies, it is often called alternative or complementary medicine but, for millions of people in China and other Asian counries, TCM is still a primary method of healthcare. TCM can certainly play an important role in restoring the normal functioning of the human body, essential for fighting disease and healing the body.

I decided to try acupuncture to help with fertility treatment and was recommended to contact Dr. Ding. I started to have acupuncture and Chinese herbs at St Neots Chinese Medical Centre from January 2016 alongside my IVF treatment with ARGC. The treatment certainly made a difference in keeping me calm, balanced and I felt a marked reduction in my anxiety too. Happily my IVF treatment was a success and we now have a beautiful daughter. I would highly recommend Dr. Ding and St Neots Chinese Medical Centre.
I have always found the staff at the St Neots Chinese Medical Centre to be cautious and friendly. I have been undergoing treatment for frozen shoulder, which included Acupuncture and Acupressure. When I first visited the centre, I was suffering from a very painful left shoulder with limited movement. I undertook a thorough consultation where the treatment was explained in detail. I am now almost completely cured, which is amazing. I can unreservedly recommend Dr. Ding for his expertise and professionalism. Thank you.
I suffered from migraines for years. I generally suffered with pain at the back of my head , and pain on one side of my head, usually my left but sometimes my right. I couldn't stand lights, noises, stress, frustration and certain types of food. I was sick and tired of taking medication so I decided to try acupuncture. At first, I was sceptical, but to my surprise, it worked – for me at least. After 10 acupuncture sessions at St Neots Chinese Medical Centre, now I only feel mild pressure in place of the usual pain. My other symptoms are also getting better. I will definitely keep going for maintenance treatment. Dr. Ding is an excellent practitioner. Thank you.
